At the October 2025 FATF Plenary, Jamaica and Nigeria were invited by the FATF President to participate in the FATF-Style Regional Body (FSRB) jurisdictions Guest Initiative. The countries will participate in three consecutive FATF Plenary and related working group meetings under their own flag over a one-year period, from October 2025 to June 2026. Jamaica follows the Cayman Islands, which was invited to take part in the inaugural Guest Initiative at the October 2024 FATF Plenary.
The FATF launched the Regional Bodies’ Guest Initiative at its October 2024 Plenary. The initiative, which is a presidential priority of FATF President Elisa de Anda Madrazo, seeks to advance the FATF’s commitment to greater inclusivity and strengthened cohesion across the Global Network.
The Honourable Fayval Williams, Minister of Finance and the Public Service, Jamaica and Chairman of the CFATF stated that “this invitation to participate in the FSRB guest initiative reflects the international community’s continued recognition of our progress; it represents a significant opportunity for Jamaica to contribute to global policy direction on anti-money laundering and counter-financing of terrorism (AML/CFT). Jamaica’s participation aligns with national priorities to maintain international confidence in our financial system, deepen our engagement with multilateral institutions, and enhance our role as a leader within the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force (CFATF).”
